" Being together meant they both had to sacrifice a lot. Moving to Europe, he would lose all his family, his society, his wealth, everything that had been part of him since birth. And he would lose them forever…Coming to Dubai, she would lose her freedom, the right to offer a smile to the people in the street, the wish to invite friends to come over for dinner, the sensation of the sun touching her bare skin and the wind going through her hair. For them, there was no meeting point, no happy compromise. To be together, one of them would have to change and lose their identity. How can one continue to love someone who is no longer the same person? Will the love end? Would the sacrifice for love kill love? Does the forbidden and impossible love either die in life or live in Shakespearean tragedies? Her family, her friends they would all advise her to go back home where she belonged. They all judged you Tarek, and by doing so they built an inevitable cold wall between her and them, because she loved you. They all believed that you were the same as everyone else. That you alone could not go against hundreds of years of religious rules and traditions, of cultures and beliefs, that your way of looking at the world had become part of your DNA and could never change. They never even tried to see the world through your eyes. She tried hard not to be angry with them for thinking of you in that way. She tried to justify them by saying to herself that she was also thinking in exactly the same way before love came between her eyes and the world. They thought she was hypnotized but they were wrong. Love did not make her blind, it only gave her new eyes and it taught her new ways to look at reality. But please forgive them Tarek for not seeing things as she did. They would probably have felt the same if they had made more space for love and less for thoughts and reason. But they were scared for her safety and her life, because they loved her too. So will you please forgive them? " Author: KOHAR Kindle Edition: 30 pages Kindle eBook Company: (2011-12-20) (2011-12-20) List Price: Amazon Price:

Kindle version of our illustrated travel guide will take you to Dubai, one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. It is rather like an independent city-state and is the most modern and progressive emirate in the UAE, developing at an unbelievable pace in the tourist and trade sectors especially. Dubai is essentially a desert city with superb infrastructure, liberal policies (by regional standards), that became popular for its excellent tourist amenities. Just 5 hours from Europe and 3 hours from most parts of the Middle East, the Near East, and the subcontinent of India, Dubai makes a great short break for shopping, partying, sunbathing, fine dining, sporting events, and even a few sinful pleasures. It is a city of superlatives: for the fastest, biggest, tallest, largest and highest, Dubai is the destination. It also has the largest immigrant population in the world. Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the emirates, after Abu Dhabi. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country's legislature.
The earliest recorded mention of Dubai is in 1095, and the earliest settlement known as Dubai town dates from 1799. Dubai was formally established in the early 19th century by the Al Abu Falasa clan of Bani Yas, and it remained under clan control when the United Kingdom assumed the protection of Dubai in 1892. Its geographical location made it an important trading hub and by the beginning of the 20th century, it was an important port. In 1966, the year oil was discovered, Dubai and the emirate of Qatar set up a new monetary unit to replace the Gulf Rupee. The oil economy led to a massive influx of foreign workers, quickly expanding the city by 300% and bringing in international oil interests. The modern emirate of Dubai was created after the UK left the area in 1971. At this time Dubai, together with Abu Dhabi and four other emirates, formed the United Arab Emirates. The following year Ras al Khaimah joined the federation while Qatar and Bahrain chose to remain independent nations. In 1973, the monetary union with Qatar was dissolved and the UAE Dirham introduced throughout the UAE. A free trade zone was built around the Jebel Ali port in 1979, allowing foreign companies unrestricted import of labour and export capital. The Gulf War of 1990 had a negative financial effect on the city, as depositors withdrew their money and traders withdrew their trade, but subsequently the city recovered in a changing political climate and thrived.DVD: NTSC, SubtitledAround The World, Travel DVD, Dubai, UAE Travel Company: ISBN: 7884204991 List Price: Amazon Price: $19.99 Used Price: $14.99
