Candidate McCain came over less than expected but contrary to normal Presidential politics he refused to hang radical and commonly detested Black Nationalist Reverend Jeremiah Wright around Obama's neck, despite Obama's claim to have attended Wright's church for 20 years. Combining McCain's kid glove treatment of Obama with the financial collapse that started on September 15 with the collapse of Lehman Brothers, McCain never had a chance after the middle of September despite his brilliant choice of Sara Palin as his running mate. Obama won. It appears two years later that the country may have lost for he has failed as President through September of 2010 and his "accomplishments" are being rejected by the people. His approval rating at the end of September hovers around 40-43 percent, ten points less than the percentage of people who voted for him.
